Music Taste

My absolute favorite genre is doom metal. The way my favorite doom metal acts bulldoze you with bass, dread, and/or groovy, syrupy riffs just does it for me. Listening to doom metal is like a hot shower for my eardrums! Bands heavy in my rotation right now are Faetooth, Restless Spirit, and Temple of the Fuzz Witch.

Outside of doom metal, I like other noisy and weird alternative genres of music. Hyperpop from artists like Jane Remover and alternative/experimental hip hop from artists like Danny Brown and JPEGMAFIA top my list there. So does industrial music, but I don't know any specific tracks or artists as I typically just go to clubs for that kind of music. I also like darkwave and 70s music, like, in general.

Guitars

I own a 1986 Made in Japan Fender Stratocaster. I fitted it with Ernie Ball Mammoth Slinky strings and tuned it to B Standard, and it's what I use to play doom and stoner metal.

I hope to someday get a more typical guitar for doom metal like a Gibson Les Paul or an SG, and to restring and tune the Strat for standard tuning music. At the moment, I'm sadly too broke for that.

I have a bass guitar that's also for doom metal, and an acoustic guitar for standard tuning music.
